Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Estate Selection different from other olive oils?
Purely Sourced Estate Selection is an early-harvest, single-origin Greek extra virgin olive oil from 100% Koroneiki olives grown in Kalamata. Cold-extracted within hours of harvest, it delivers naturally high polyphenols, low acidity, and full traceability from grove to bottle — unlike blended or heavily processed supermarket oils.

How is it sourced and produced?
Sourced from local farms in Messinia, Kalamata, where altitude and calcareous soils create ideal growing conditions. Olives are harvested early to retain flavour and nutritional value, then cold-extracted within 24 hours in an eco-certified mill.

Can I cook with it?
Yes — Estate Selection is designed for everyday use. Ideal for cooking (sautéing, roasting), salad dressings, and finishing dishes. For higher polyphenol intake, our High Phenolic oil is better suited for raw use.

What is the polyphenol content?
Estate Selection contains approximately 302 mg/kg of polyphenols. Under EU regulation, olive oil polyphenols contribute to the protection of blood lipids from oxidative stress when consumed as part of a daily intake of 20g. Independent lab results are available for each batch.

How should I store it?
Store in a cool, dark place away from heat and direct sunlight. Keep the bottle tightly sealed after use. Natural cloudiness at lower temperatures is normal and a sign of purity.

Is it vegan and gluten-free?
Yes. 100% plant-based, naturally gluten-free, and contains no additives or allergens — just pure, cold-pressed olives.

Is it organic?
Our producers follow traditional farming practices without synthetic fertilisers or pesticides. However, this oil is not certified organic in the UK and is not marketed as organic.

What does the peppery taste mean?
A light peppery finish indicates good polyphenol content. It reflects the oil's antioxidant richness and is a recognised positive attribute in quality extra virgin olive oil.

What does acidity mean?
Acidity measures free fatty acids. To qualify as extra virgin, acidity must be below 0.8%. Estate Selection is ≤0.4%, reflecting fresh olives and careful processing.
